A New Year's Retreat with Vivid Void
Friends, I’d like to introduce STRUCTURE - a new retreat I’m hosting this New Year’s, at Nameless Mountain in Boulder. STRUCTURE will consist of four days of meditation, as well as classes and workshops on the structures - both in us and without - that give rise to our experience of life itself.
Let me tell you a little more about it:
Course Content
I designed this retreat for those that struggle to give themselves direction without coercion, to keep resolutions, and to make meaningful, sustainable change in their lives.
We will meditate every morning and evening, share and prepare meals communally, and conduct classes and workshops together around a roaring fire.
Together, we will synthesize lessons from architecture, systems thinking, Western psychology and Zen Buddhism. First, we’ll survey your individual pattern language, or how you construct your experience of the world, with year-in-review exercises and reflection exercises. Then, we’ll learn how beliefs, attitudes and rituals form the inner structure that gives shape and meaning to our everyday lives. We’ll work together to identify limiting concepts, dead patterns and restrictive, useless routines that are not serving you. Finally, we’ll design new structures from the ground up - structures that systematize and enhance the life you’re already living, rather than attempting to impose an alien, oppressive regime from the top-down. .
You’ll leave with a dedicated integration plan - not a list of goals or resolutions, but a blueprint for positive changes to your inner and outer environments that will help bring about the truest, happiest, most vital version of you.
Location
STRUCTURE will be conducted entirely at Nameless Mountain, a secluded and scenic farmhouse in North Boulder. Participants will sleep on bunks at Nameless Mountain, and have access to Wi-Fi, electricity, showers, laundry, and a full kitchen. All meals, as well as snacks, coffee and tea, are included in the price of the ticket.
Tickets
The in-person price is $500 for a ticket, and the remote price is $250. Scholarships are also available. I’m really excited about this retreat, and can’t wait to share it with you. I hope to see you in Boulder this New Year’s!
