Hello everyone, I hope you’ve been well. I regularly have many good intentions about returning to longform writing, but some combination of recent heartbreak and many other compelling projects has kept staying my hand. Regardless, I’m grateful to everyone who has continued to subscribe and read my little updates, here and there.
The Dharma teacher Wystan Bryant-Scott and I have teamed up to create a summer backpacking meditation retreat in Colorado this year. We will spend five days in the mountains, getting as close to our experience of hiking, camping and being in nature as possible. It’s not a terribly difficult hike - we’re focused on practice, not fitness - but it’s a very beautiful trail, close to Estes Park and the Chicago Basin.
Our focus will be on practice - walking meditation, as well as movement practice in the morning and formal meditation in the evening - but we have also carved out plenty of time for community and 1-on-1s with Wystan and me.
We have room for 15 attendees and we expect it to sell out quickly, so I’m announcing it here and on my Discord before broadcasting it on Twitter.
More information and the sign-up page can be found here.
I think this retreat will be really special - the sort of event we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. If you’d like to join us, I would love to spend time with you in the mountains.
Faithful,
Gabe
