The Ecstasy of St. Therese by Giuseppe Bazzani

Good morning. Today is Saturday, the 13th of May, in the year 2023. In the Celtic tree calendar, today is the beginning of the Hawthorn month. In the Celtic zodiac, the Hawthorn tree is the symbol of paradox, dialectic, and the union of the masculine and feminine.

On this day in 1373, the English anchoress Julian of Norwich received a series of mystical visions that would later be published as Revelations of Divine Love, one of the great flowers of medieval European women’s mysticism.

Centuries later, on this same day in the year 1612, the mystic swordsman Miyamoto Musashi fought and defeated his greatest opponent, Sasaki Kojirō, on the shores of Ganryū Island in Southern Japan.

Today, may you gain an exquisite awareness not only of what you give to the world, but also what you receive from it. And then, may the veil between the two fall away from your mind.

This table is accurate to within 50 miles of Portland, Oregon in the United States. You can calculate the times of celestial events for your location with a quick, easy web tool by clicking the button below:
